NEW UPDATE 15.08.2025

Sweep and Pipe modifiers have been redesigned from scratch for the sake of better performance and functionality.

Sweep modifier is now significantly faster. UV Unwrap is not automatic anymore you need to click Unwrap checkbox in UV Settings (Keep this setting OFF when you making changes to geometry, turn it ON only at the very end). Ability to change resolution for both path and profile have been added. There is also a new algorithm for checking if Normals facing the correct way, I've tested all 75 provided architectual profiles and wasn't able to find a single case with flipped normals. I left option to reverse profile in case someone would actually want to flip normals on purpose.

Most Profiles now have a proper way to decimate it without affecting the silhouette. Just change angle limit in Decimate modifier to reduce the geometry. It also helps withe the performance.

Pipe modifier will generate much better UVs (it is now based on spline factor).

Ability to change path resolution when using bezier or NURBS input also have been added to Pipe Modifier.

2 new Cap options - Quad Strips and Quad Fan, now with these options and resolution is set to even number you'll get quad only topology.

Ability to set Material from the Sweep and Modifiers have been removed and replaced with the separate Modifier/NodeGroup for previewing UVs - UVMap Checker. It will allow to choose 2 different types of Checker Maps: UV Grid and Color Grid, and 5 different resolutions from 512 to 8k. No need to open Shader Editor, just drag and drop UVMap Checker on your model from Asset Browser and select checker map that you want from the modifier options. UVMap Checker works on any geometry whether it generated by Geometry Nodes or just created with regular modeling tools as long as the attribute name of the UV is 'UVMap'.

New modifier - Line to Cylinder. Simple modifier which allows to turn mesh line/s or curve line/s into a cylinder. Difference from Pipe modifier that you can add side segments and change height right from the modifier settings. As the title suggest it is only for making cylinders for more complex shapes use Pipe modifier.

Repipe works slightly differently now, it is now just one modifier.

Collapse modifier have been replaced with Tube Collapse GN Tool available in Edit mode. Select geometry that you want to collapse using select linked and execute the tool. As a result you'll have a path. It works on geometry as shown in this example (Closed profile extruded along a path with no caps at both ends).

To see what kind of perfomance you can expect from this update and what's changed watch first 7 minutes of the video (it's recorded on 10 yo hardware so should be even faster for most users). Timestamps in the video description.

I've also decided to expand scope of the toolkit and include other tools that I have developed. Instead of making several products I'll be adding new nodegroups that have nothing to do with 'Sweep' functionality. Main focus will be GN based modifiers that will help with your modeling in Blender.

In this update I've Added 7 Array Modifiers:

Circular Array. You can array an instance on full circle or arc (1-359 degrees).

2 type of Cylinder Arrays. 1) You change size of the cylinder 2) You change distance between instances

Grid Array with ability to remove every other instance.

Line Array. Simple Array that starts on origin and goes in both directions.

Radial Symmetry for modeling car rims etc. Can be used as a Circular Array as well.

Spiral based Array.

12 Grid-based fully parametric assets:

7 meshes

5 patterns

All 12 have built-in option to turn them into Tube

5 General Purpose Modifiers:

Fill Profile - fills mesh or curve profile/s with N-gon. Unlike default gn fill curve will work on profile facing any direction not only Z up.

Geometry to Origin - moves geometry to origin on a factor 0-1 between current position and origin.

Grid to Tube - bends mesh grid into tube.

Shell - similar to solidify modifier in simple mode, the only major difference that you can add additional side segments.

UVMap Checker (mentioned above)

and 2 GN Tools Reverse and Tube Collapse.

Product Page is not fully updated for now (Some info below is not up to date). Documentation currently only available for Sweep and Pipe Modifier and Set Attributes Tools.

The purpose of the Sweep Toolkit is to fix a lot of the problems with the default Curve to Mesh Node in Blender and add functionality to it. Sweep Modifier gives you even thickness on each Point of the Path, removes weird rotation at the end of open Paths, allows you orient Profile to X-Y-Z Axis, works with Curves and Meshes as an input for the Path and the Profile, provides you with a lot of tools to help you automate process of assigning Sharp edges and UV Seams and will generate UVs for your Sweep Mesh.

The Sweep Toolkit will be most useful for Environment Artists and for people doing ArchViz.

The Sweep Toolkit consist of 5 Geometry Nodes Modifiers, 9 Geometry Nodes Tools, the Profile Pack of 75 Architectural Mouldings.

Sweep and Pipe Modifiers are user friendly and don't require any prior knowledge of Geometry Nodes. Installation process is easy and straightforward, just unzip Sweep_Toolkit and follow provided instructions. Then add either Sweep or Pipe Modifier to your objects like any other Modifier, all the Options in the User Interface. Hover your cursor on any Option to get Tooltips.

Features

  • Even Thickness on each Point

  • Remove weird Rotation at the end of the Open Paths

  • Orient the Profile to X, Y, Z Axis

  • Meshes and Curves can be used as an input for both the Path and the Profile. There are included Set 'Sweep' Attributes Tools that will allow you to assign Radius and Tilt to the Mesh Path

  • Sweep Modifier has a built-in algorithm that will try to make sure that are Faces on your Mesh aren't inverted. It doesn't always work on complex Profiles, so there is Reverse Profile Option in case you need to flip Normals
  • There are several Options in the Modifiers and Attributes that are used by Modifiers that will allow automate process of assigning Sharp edges and UV Seams. All edges that are marked as Sharp by the Modifiers – automatically marked as Seam. You can preview UV Map by applying Material with Color Grid

  • Transform the Profile right in the Modifier

  • Sweep Toolkit includes 75 Architectural Profiles for you to use. All scaled to the real world sizes and have pivot set the correct way. Profiles are editable you can change the resolution in the Modifier Settings of the Profile

Changelog

09.11.2024 (v_1_0)

  • Initial Release

13.11.2024 (v_1_1)

  • Fixed default Profile Orientation
  • Removed Cap Settings from Sweep Modifier it was only intended for Pipe Modifier
  • Added 50 Architectural Profiles
  • Updated Installation Instructions and the User Manual

23.11.2024 (v_1_2)

  • Added 25 Architectural Profiles

  • New GN Tool – UnBevel Vertices (Accessible in Edit Mode – Sweep Toolkit Menu)
  • Select Beveled Segments that you want to UnBevel, then use the Tool. If two Segments are adjacent to each other use Edge Select Mode

  • New GN Modifier – Fillet Points by Angle
  • Rounds corners. Selection is based on how Sharp of an angle between two segments of the Point

  • Everything is now under one Catalog for better User Experience

09.12.2024 (v_1_3)

  • 2 New Modifiers: Collapse Pipe, RePipe

  • Collapse Pipe turns Pipes/Cylinders into Path

  • Collapse Pipe works on non-cyclic Pipes with no Caps

  • RePipe is similar to the Pipe Modifier, but only works on Paths created by the Collapse Pipe Modifier
  • Combination of Collapse Pipe and RePipe Modifiers allows you to change Resolution and Radius on existing Pipes/Cylinders created destructivly without Modifiers

  • Collapse Pipe can be used in with regular Pipe Modifier and other Sweep Toolkit Tools such as UnBevel Vertices and Fillet Points by Angle
